My heart has been blasted into a million pieces

I really don't know what to do right now. I took Dia to the vet, expecting a normal first checkup. What I've heard is so heartwrenching, I don't know what to do.

We cannot afford the lifelong cost of keeping her happy, and my husband has decided to return her to the shelter. They've promised to find a family that can take care of her, but in the few weeks we had her, she has completely stolen my heart.

I wanted to throw up when it was mentioned we could trade for another rabbit.

I just..... I don't know what to do right now. I can't even look at her.
